Member of organized crime group detained in Kyrgyzstan

During a special operation of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, twice convicted 34-year-old member of a criminal group, members of which, posing as employees of law enforcement bodies, were engaged in looting and extortion was detained, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

It is noted that in August 2016 there was received information that some unknown persons of the Asian appearance in the evening in Bishkek, at the intersection of Prospect Bokonbaev and Manas, forcibly put a 32-year-old resident of Jalal-Abad region into a car and took to an unknown destination.

It was found out that during the day he was forcibly kept in one of the private hotels. 

"Abusers beat and tortured the victim, took his money in the amount of 9,000 soms, expensive personal belongings, confiscated passports and documents on the car. Under the threat of violence, they extorted money in the amount of 10,000 dollars, or demanded to re-register Toyota car on them," the agency said.

A criminal case was opened under article 167 (robbery) and 123 (kidnapping) of the Criminal Code. Work on arrest the other accomplices is underway.

The investigation is ongoing.
