Wagons of a freight train that belongs to Kyrgyz Temir Zholu company ran off the track. Eyewitnesses informed 24.kg news agency.

"The train came from Kazakhstan towards Bishkek and crashed nearby Merke station. This is the territory of Kazakhstan, but the railways are owned by Kyrgyzstan and they are on the balance sheet of Kyrgyz Temir Zholu. Under the agreement, this part of the railway till Lugovaya station belongs to the Kyrgyz side after the collapse of the Soviet Union," the witnesses said.

A company representative confirmed the information about the crash of six wagons with coal, and added that two commissions - from Kyrgyz Temir Zholu and the Republic of Kazakhstan- have left for the crash site to clarify the situation.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, no victims were reported, so the agency is not involved in liquidation of consequences.
