National Bank’s interventions not help: dollar exchange rate above 69 soms

Dollar in Kyrgyzstan is at the level of above 69 soms. Interventions of the National Bank have not brought any results so far.

Today, the exchange offices of the capital and the commercial banks buy dollars for 69.2 soms, sell-for 69.3 soms. Since the beginning of the week, it fell by only 10 tyiyn. The nominal exchange rate is set at 69, 1232 soms (0.04 percent drop per day).

Trying to hold back a sharp rise of the dollar exchange rate, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic three times carried out interventions on the foreign exchange market. Totally, it has sold $ 29,710 million.
