EEU countries obliged to equip vehicles with “alarm button”

From January 1, 2017 comes into force the requirement for mandatory equipment of vehicles with "alarm button" in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission reported.

It's about cars, manufactured in the EEU. The requirement doesn't apply to cars that were in operation before the entry into force of the new rules.

In case of an accident "alarm button" informs the relevant services in the automatic mode.

It is noted that most types of vehicles produced in the EEU states, passed confirmation on the new requirements. According to the Industry and Trade Ministry of Russia, by December 20, 2016 all of the major car brands - from the mass segment (LADA, Hyundai, KIA, Renault, Volkswagen) to premium (BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Bentley, Rolls Royce), supplying products to the countries of the union - finished or are finishing equipment of machines with "alarm" system.

"The same requirements refer to vehicles imported by individuals from third countries. Citizens who want to bring vehicles in EEU privately after January 1, 2017 (both new and old) should remember that, for example, car must have embedded system of emergency services call," the EEC concluded.

Similar requirements in The European Union will be introduced in April 2018. But many global brands already equipped the cars they produce with relevant systems.
