Russia’s foreign policy has separate item on EEU development 

Russia's foreign policy has a separate item on the development of EEU. The updated version of its concept was signed by Vladimir Putin on December 1, 2016.

The document notes that the priorities of Russian foreign policy are the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation with the states - participants of CIS and further strengthening of integration structures with Russian participation within the Commonwealth.

Russia considers deepening and expanding integration within EEU with Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as a key task.

Text of the foreign policy concept for the first time contains separate references to Armenia and Kyrgyzstan - countries which have joined the Economic Union (EEU) with Russia and are considered to be its political allies. It is noted that the policy towards the union is essential for sustainable development, comprehensive technical upgrading, cooperation, enhancing the competitiveness of the Union economies. 

It was also stressed  that developed on the basis of universal principles of integration EEU can play an important role in the harmonization of integration processes in the European and Eurasian regions.
