Switzerland allocates to Kyrgyzstan more than 14 million soms for elections

Switzerland allocates to Kyrgyzstan more than 14 million soms (200,000 Swiss francs) for holding of elections in Kyrgyzstan. Embassy of the country in the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to it, today the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Switzerland to Kyrgyzstan Rene Holenstein and UNDP Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan Alexander Avanesov in the presence of the Chairman of the State Registration Service Tayirbek Sarpashev signed an addendum to the agreement on the support of the elections in the Kyrgyz Republic project, executed by the UNDP.

According to the document, Switzerland allocates additional funding to improve the biometric identification system of SRS, which will ensure the accuracy and transparency of the voting. Switzerland has allocated a total of 2.6 million Swiss francs to support the elections in 2015-2017.
