Head of State Registration Service urges parties in local elections in Osh not to bribe voters

Head of the State Registration Service Taiyrbek Sarpashev urged the parties, participating in the local elections in Osh, not to bribe voters. He made this statement at a roundtable in the southern capital, where the improved procedure of identification of voters by biometric data was demonstrated. Press service of SRS reported.

 The official stressed that "thanks to the introduction of the system of biometric identification and reading in ballot boxes we forever got rid of two gray elections schemes: multiple voting and mass ballot stuffing." According to him, there is still a third problem - the bribery of voters.

Deputy Chairman of the State Registration Service Dastan Dogoev told in detail about the procedure of identification. He noted that on March 27, on the day of elections to local councils, the identification procedure will be easier than that applied in the parliamentary elections. SRS operator will not enter the personal identification number of the voter in the computer, the PIN will be read in by a camcorder. After that the voter must undergo biometric identification, putting a finger on the scanner.
