Only 15 percent of agricultural products processed in Kyrgyzstan

Despite the establishment of industries, Kyrgyzstan continues to process only 15 percent of agricultural production, the Minister of Economy Arzybek Kozhoshev said today at a government meeting.

During the first 11 months of 2016, the volume of foreign trade of Kyrgyzstan decreased by a half of percentage point.

Exports amounted to $1.6 billion and decreased by 1.5 percent. Imports remained at the level of 2015 due to supplies from the third countries.

Imports of goods from the EEU countries decreased by 16 percent.

"The competitiveness of domestic business is reducing. To change this situation, it is necessary to build logistics centers of local and regional importance. But the information doesn't reach the population. Now we need to help the regions in this work," Arzybek Kozhoshev said.
