Kyrgyz government poorly protects investors and businessmen

The deputies of the Parliament recognized unsatisfactory the work of the government on attraction and protection of investment, enterprise development, production and promotion of products on the foreign market. The decision was taken today at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on economic and fiscal policy.

Deputies noted that they succeeded to consider the issue only at the seventh attempt. The government should have reported before September 1, 2016.

Also, MPs were dissatisfied with the responses of the main rapporteur - Vice Prime Minister Oleg Pankratov.

"If I was in opposition, I would raise a serious concern. But our group is part of a coalition of the majority, so I ask you to accept the comments of MPs to note and correct deficiencies," Akylbek Zhaparov said.

Deputies gave the government time to fix and prepare all the necessary reports and documents by May 15.
