Kyrgyzstan plans to put out Kara-Keche and Min-Kush fields to tender

The State Committee of Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use has announced a tender for purchase of consulting services to support the project of complex development of  Kara-Keche and Min-Kush (Ak-Ulak area) brown coal deposits. Announcement was posted on the state procurement portal.

Kyrgyz government has decided that it is necessary to engage a consulting company in preparation and holding of the contest. The State Committee is ready to pay 76,357, 930 soms.

As the head of the committee Duyshenbek Zilaliev told 24.kg news agency, consultant selection will last five months. The company will support the tender until the conclusion of the contract.

It is planned to announce a tender for deposits in the second half of 2017.

 

An investor or a consortium of investors will be engaged in the development of brown coal deposits Kara-Keche and Min-Kush (Ak-Ulak area), the construction and operation of a thermal power plant (TPP) and Balykchy - Kochkor - Kara-Keche railroad.

It is expected that coal transportation will be carried out by rail, which an investor will built. It must combine Kara-Keche deposit with operating Balykchy station. The length of the road will be 186 kilometers. 

Earlier, the government has announced a contest for the right to use the fields, but no one has filed an application for participation.
