In 2018 Kyrgyzstan will begin the construction of facilities on the project of transfer and trade of power Central Asia - South Asia CASA-1000, the head of the power of the National Energy Holding Aibek Kaliev said to 24.kg news agency.

According to him, there were problems with the tender for the procurement of substations. As a result, the project deadline postponed until 2020.

"Kyrgyzstan will start implementation after Afghanistan. Previously, before the end of the year a tender will be held, and in 2018 - begin construction," Aibek Kaliev said.

The substations will be installed in Tajikistan and Pakistan as part of CASA-1000 project, which will connect Central and South Asia through energy corridor.

It was expected that the project will be completed in 2019. Due to delays in tender the deadline was moved to a year.
