Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to meet with Turkish media in Ankara on January 31

Meeting of Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Ibragim Zhunusov with Turkish media will be held on January 31 in Ankara. The diplomatic mission informed.

Earlier, at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Tugrul Turkes, Ibragim Zhunusov drew attention to the fact that the cases of appearing in Turkish press various inaccurate and not confirmed information about the alleged involvement of Kyrgyz citizens in various terrorist attacks in Turkey became more frequent. The Ambassador stressed that this has a negative effect on the friendly relations between the two brotherly countries.

In this regard, the Embassy has sent a corresponding letter to a number of the largest news agencies of Turkey with the requirement to publish refutations of unfounded information.

Recall, the Turkish media said that 28-year-old Kyrgyzstani Iakhe Mashrapov was suspected of committing a terrorist attack before the New Year in a nightclub in Istanbul. Then two unknown men shot from the Kalashnikov gun at the resting in Reina night club people in Istanbul's Ortaköy district. As a result, 39 people have died, about 70 were injured. Not less than 700-800 visitors were in the club at the time of the attack, who had gathered to celebrate the holiday. One of the attackers was killed at the scene by the police; the second had managed to fled. 

Later, Turkish media reported that 40 people, allegedly, Islamic State members, including 20 children - 9 boys and 11 girls from Eastern Turkestan, Dagestan and Kyrgyzstan, were detained in connection with involvement in the preparation of a terrorist act in Izmir. It was also reported that three families from Eastern Turkestan with Kyrgyz passports - 9 men, 11 women were arrested. 20 children were found in their homes.
