Azimzhan Askarov goes on hunger strike, asks to inform wife in case of death

Azimzhan Askarov went on an indefinite hunger strike, and asked to immediately inform his wife and human rights defenders in case of his death. He informed the chief of the detention center 1 where he is kept at the moment.

As the human rights activist explained, in such a way he can fight for justice, because he did not agree with the charges against him since the first day. He also did not agree with the decision of Chui Regional Court.

The prisoner said that he had no complaints about the detention center staff, and thanked them for their attitude.

Azimzhan Askarov agrees to undergo medical examination during the hunger strike. But he warned that he would not take any pills and disclaimed injections.

The convicted asked to immediately inform the wife and human rights defenders Tolekan Ismailova and Abdumomun Mamaraimov in case of his death.

The detention center staff noted that physicians would monitor the state of hungering and would not allow the critical deterioration of his health.
