Reconstruction of Forensic Expertise Center in Bishkek completed

Building of the National Centre of Forensic Expertise in Bishkek was renovated. Its opening ceremony took place today.

According to the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic, 48 million soms have been allocated for the reconstruction of the building with the area of ​​1,300 square meters by UNODC, financed by the US government.

"We hope that our assistance will help Kyrgyzstan to obtain international accreditation of forensic laboratories in the future," the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Sheila Gwaltney said at the ceremony.

Reconstruction of the building, located on 11, Orozbekova Street started in March 2016. 

"National Centre of Forensic Expertise is the only independent from the criminal investigation bodies and courts special institution engaged in practical and scientific research in the field of criminology and forensics," the Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Oleg Pankratov said at the opening ceremony.
