Kyrgyzstan privatizes 177 hospitals and kindergartens for 25 years

At least 177 hospitals and kindergartens have been privatized in Kyrgyzstan from 1991 till 2016. The State Property Management Fund presented such data to the deputies.

In particular, there have been privatized 102 health facilities, 37 cultural facilities and 38 educational facilities.

In 2014, Parliament charged the prosecuting authorities with checking the legality of allocation, sale of land and hospitals' premises.

The draft resolution of Parliament "On the state of rented and privatized land plots and buildings previously owned by educational, culture and sports institutions, as well as representing cultural value" will be discussed by deputies tomorrow, on January 26. Members of the profile committee of the Parliament had already approved it.

In the document, the Parliament instructs the government to make an inventory of all health, education, culture and sport institutions in the lease and the privatization of the land and premises till June 1, 2017 and to take measures for the return of land and demolition of buildings illegally constructed on them. 

 Materials on the newly revealed facts of illegal privatization and lease of land and premises will be sent to the prosecutor's office. The social facilities will be expelled from the state property privatization program.

In addition, the Prosecutor General's Office was charged with prosecution of officials involved in the illegal privatization of land and buildings previously owned by health, education, culture and sports organizations.
