China is ready to invest in construction of hydroelectric power plant on Sary-Jaz River

China is ready to invest in the construction of Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) on Sary-Jaz River. The First Deputy of the Authorized representative of the Government in Issuk-Kul province Akylbek Zhanybekov informed 24.kg news agency.

According to him, the first investment forum will be held in Cholpon-Ata town on September 6. "Businessmen from Russia, China, the U.S. and Kazakhstan expressed the intention to take part there. We will present them a few projects. One of them - construction of hydroelectric power station and water reservoirs on Sary-Jaz River. Through this HPP we can export electricity to China," Akylbek Zhanybekov noted and added that it is planned to develop deposits of tin, tungsten and mines of rocky coal, which stocks amount to 20 million tons in the region.

"One of the projects is dedicated to tourism as a priority sector. We plan to develop mountain tourism and build over time more 3-4 bases. It is possible to focus on mountain climbing. Nepal, for example, earns by Everest as well," he said.
