The most striking example of integration in Kyrgyzstan is the integration of labour force. The U.N. Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic Alexander Avanesov informed today at the presentation of the "Trade and Human Development in Central Asia" UNDP analytical note.
According to him, it is testified by the fact that remittances from migrants amount to 31 percent of the country's GDP. International experts are sure that integration of Kyrgyzstan with other Central Asian countries has already taken place, irrespective of accession or non-accession to the Customs Union. "We held meetings with representatives of Kyrgyz diasporas in Russia. Many of them noted that at present migrants are ready to spend remittances not only for foodstuff. They are ready to invest resources in the development of their own business. It can be used for growth of economic potential of the republic. We should think how to make migrants' remittances at most profitable for Kyrgyzstan. The subject for discussion is whether the CU will assist in effective solution of problems," Alexander Avanesov noted.
