Russia plans introduce entrance for CIS countries only on international passport

Starting from 2015 Russia is going to introduce requirement on entrance to the country with international passports for CIS countries. The Federal Migration Service informed.++

It was noted that new entry rules will refer to citizens of neighboring states, except citizens of CU member states - Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Experts note that for Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Tajikistan, which highly depend on revenues of labour migrants working in Russia, toughening of the rules will be a push towards Russian integration.

It should be noted that the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs doesn't know anything about forthcoming migration system changes. "There wasn't any official information yet. We have a visa free regime with Russia. Furthermore, we aren't going to require the Russians to enter the republic only on international passports," the Ministry explained to 24.kg news agency.
