Journalists find another company owned by President in Turkey

Journalists of Kloop.kg found another Turkish company that belonged to President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and his wife. Information about it is available on Kloop.kg website.

It is noted that in December 2006, Almazbek and Raisa Atambayev sold their shares in the Turkish company Foreks Makina. This company deals with the sale of electrical appliances. The spouses owned 2,800 shares worth 25 Turkish liras each. Officially, the deal brought the Atambayevs 140,000 liras, or about $ 98,000 at the exchange rate of December 2006. The market price of the deal had not yet been announced. At the same time, it is not known exactly when Atambayev purchased shares in Foreks Makina Company. Data is in the paper bulletin, but not published on the website of the Turkish Trade Register.

Foreks Makina got into the possession of the citizens of Turkey Levent and Ahmet Korkmazov. In 2012, the company was resold to Ahmet Kaya from Termikel Group. In October 2015, Ahmet Kaya merged Foreks Makina with Elektromed Elektronik. It should be noted that after the sale of the last company Almazbek Atambayev earned $ 35 million.

Elektromed Elektronik itself is engaged in the production of electricity meters and is part of the large holding company Termikel Group. As the company writes, it takes the fourth place in the world in the production of meters, and the production itself is located in Ankara.

Elektromed is connected with Kyrgyzstan by the CEO of Termikel Group Ahmet Kaya. According to the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, he was chairman of the executive committee of the Turkish-Kyrgyz Business Council. Fergana calls Kaya «the oldest friend» of Atambayev and the associate of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In early April, at a meeting with Prosecutor General Indira Dzoldubaeva, the President handed her documents on the sale of the company in Izmir. Then it was said that the President gained 45 billion liras or $ 35 million for it.

The head of state reported to the country’s supervisory authority after the leader of Ata Meken, Omurbek Tekebayev, accused Almazbek Atambayev of doing business in Cyprus.
