Anti-avalanche galleries to appear on Bishkek-Osh road at cost of Japan grant

Additional anti-avalanche galleries will be built on Bishkek-Osh road at the expense of a grant from Japan. Embassy of Japan in Kyrgyzstan reported.

It is noted that the ceremony of signing exchange notes between the Foreign Affairs Ministers Fumio Kishida and Erlan Abdyldaev on two projects took place today in Tokyo.

A grant of $ 38.6 million is being allocated to Kyrgyzstan for the first project. It will be spent on building of anti-avalanche galleries on the 246th kilometer of Bishkek-Osh road.

The second grant of $ 3.9 million will be spent on equipment and tools for servicing road maintenance equipment for six road-operating enterprises of Kyrgyzstan.

Recall, a joint statement adopted during the visit of Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Bishkek in October 2015, gives priority to the development of Kyrgyzstan's transport infrastructure and the strengthening of internal and external communication of the region.
