Detained in Bishkek demonstrators for freedom of speech released

Participants of the march in support of freedom of speech, who were detained in Bishkek, were released from reception center. Civil activist Adil Turdukulov told to 24.kg news agency.

According to him, according to the protocol, the four arrested on March 18 were released at 11.40 am. «They are free and will participate in today’s Freedom Forum," Adil Turdukulov said.

Bishkek hosted a peaceful march in support of freedom of speech. The demonstrators planned to march to the monument to the fighters of the revolution on Ala-Too Square. The route was coordinated with the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the capital. However, some participants moved to the roadway from the sidewalk, violating the conditions of the march. There was a skirmish with the police, the participants of the demonstration were taken to district police department and detained for five days.
