Active members of Hizb ut-Tahrir detained in Kyrgyzstan

Active members of the religious-extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir were detained in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to it, on March 15, three active members of the organization were detained in Alamudunsky district of Chui region, extremist materials were confiscated from them.

The search was carried out in the presence of witnesses in the criminal case, initiated under Article 299 (incitement of interethnic, racial, religious or inter-regional hatred) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Forensic theological examination was appointed. The detainees were placed in detention center. Operative and investigative measures are being carried out.

Earlier, seven Hizb ut-Tahrir members were detained in the same area, university teacher was among them.
