Alexander Lukashenko appoints Belarus Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko appointed the country’s ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Belta news agency reported.

It is noted that Andrey Strachko became the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Kyrgyz Republic. «Belta» notes that the main efforts the country focuses on the development of cooperation projects. So, last June the production of Belarusian tractors was opened in Kyrgyzstan. Work on the creation of a similar enterprise for assembling of harvesters continues.

There are plans to open a joint venture for the production of mining equipment. As for the trade turnover, in January 2017 Belarus almost tripled its exports to Kyrgyzstan.

«This is a fairly high figure. We have something to increase," Andrey Strachko said in a conversation with journalists.

It should be noted that after the revolution in 2010, ex-president Kurmanbek Bakiyev lives in Belarus and even builds a luxurious house there. At the same time, after Alexander Lukashenko received fugitive president, Kyrgyzstan withdrew the ambassador in that country. Diplomatic relations started improving only a couple of years ago.
