Government plans to get 150 mln soms from state lottery

About 150 million soms should be transferred to the budget in the first year of conducting of the state promotional lotteries. Representatives of the State Financial Supervision Department announced this today in Parliament.

According to officials, there will be about 30-40 employees in the state enterprise, private individuals (sellers) will also be provided with work. The lottery is also planned to be developed in the regions.

Deputy Irina Karamushkina asked if everyone would be involved in the state lottery business voluntarily and compulsorily.

"Previously, lottery tickets were forcibly given at schools to make a contribution to the development of the state," the people's deputy reminded.

The law provides for a direct ban on such actions, the employees of the State Financial Supervision Department stressed.

Karamushkina also asked on what grounds one of the mobile operators sends sms with advertisements about prizes, and at the same time takes money from the accounts without permission of subscribers.

"SMS mailouts do not relate to lottery activities. This applies also to campaigns," officials said.

As of today, there are about 30 lottery organizers in the market of Kyrgyzstan. They all are private.

Recall, a group of deputies proposed to ban any lottery activities in Kyrgyzstan. The State Financial Supervision Department wanted to retain right of the state to conduct lotteries to replenish the budget. The deputies of the Parliament and the State Financial Supervision Department spent almost three months to agree on the bill. A combined version of the document was developed.
