The deputies of the Parliament Committee on Economic and Fiscal Policy couldn’t decide what to do with the proposed by the Ministry of Economy bill on increase of the transport tax.
First, MPs debated whether to accept such a tax or not. Then they thought that it can’t be attributed to the sumptuary tax. Then the deputies failed to reach an agreement with the Minister of Economy Arzybek Kozhoshev on the date of the tax introduction. Deputies proposed to introduce it on September 1, 2017, Arzybek Kozhoshev — within 15 days after the publication of the law.
However, the MPs decided that conscientious taxpayers this year should be allowed to pay tax at the applicable for today rates.
The deputies failed to take the final decision. Three MPs were in favor of the bill of the Ministry of Economy, three — against. As a result, consideration was postponed for a week.
