Chatkal region of Kyrgyzstan covered with 2 meters of snow

Snow depth reached two meters in Chatkal and Kanysh-Kiya rural areas of Kyrgyzstan. The state of emergency was imposed, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

According to the ministry, snow is falling in these settlements since February 11. Avalanches came down in the area. Schools and preschool institutions are closed.

Road services are clearing the roads. Rescue service is on duty in the district.
