Taiyrbek Sarpashev tells why attachment of Bakyev associates’ property lifted

The head of the State Registration Service Taiyrbek Sarpashev told today at a press conference why the attachment of property of Maxim Bakiyev associates was lifted.

«In 2014, the Interdistrict court of Bishkek obliged the state registration office to register the ownership of non-residential premises and land in the capital on Skryabin Street. This has been done in December 2016 under the law. Prosecution authorities say that at that time there was a decision of another court — dated November 2, 2016 on the imposition of restrictions on the property. But we got the decision only 56 days later in some way. Though a court decision comes usually within five days," Taiyrbek Sarpashev said.

«Now I hope that the authorities will find out why we got the decision of the court so late," he said.

If this is the property of Bakiyev’s associates, why it was not nationalized?

«Being aware that the issues of the search and confiscation of property of Maxim Bakiyev and his associates are under close public and state scrutiny, on November 30, 2016 Sarpashev sent direct written order to Bishkek State Registration Office to lift the arrest of a property located at the address: Bishkek city, 45-45a Skryabin Street," the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.
