Russian activist taken out of Kyrgyzstan and sentenced to two years in prison

Russian activist Alyona Krylova was taken out of Kyrgyzstan and sentenced to two years in prison. The Meshchansky Court of Moscow reported.

The Meshchansky Court of Moscow sentenced Alyona Krylova, an activist of the extremist movement Left Resistance and former press secretary of the movement For Human Rights (recognized as a foreign agent and dissolved), to two years in prison for participation in the extremist community.

She was found guilty of committing a crime under Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in an extremist community). Alyona Krylova was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of two years to be served in a general regime penal colony, with restriction of freedom for a period of six months.

She was detained in the Kyrgyz Republic in summer. The girl was detained in the center of Bishkek on June 4 while walking. Then her comrade Lev Skoryakin was also detained.

Alyona Krylova, by decision of the Pervomaisky District Court, spent several months in the Bishkek pre-trial detention center.

There was no information about her extradition.

The case on the extremist organization, in which Krylova is involved, was opened against the leader of Left Resistance Darya Polyudova. A year ago, the court sentenced her to nine years in prison under the article on creating an extremist community. According to the investigators, Polyudova created an extremist community «to prepare and commit extremist crimes and publicly justify terrorism and public calls for extremist activities.» Other community members, including Krylova, organized pickets, rallies and marches aimed at discrediting the authorities.
