OVD-Info lawyer discovered Left Bloc activist, anarchist Lev Skoryakin in Moscow’s Butyrka pre-trial detention 2 after his abduction and secret deportation from Kyrgyzstan. «Support for Political Prisoners. Memorial» project reports.
Earlier, activists reported the kidnapping of Lev Skoryakin from a Bishkek shelter on the night of October 17, allegedly by intelligence officers.
According to Memorial project, the next day the activist was taken to Russia on a plane from Bishkek to Moscow Domodedovo Airport. Then he was held for two weeks in the pre-trial detention center 2 without procedural status and subjected to torture.
In response to a lawyer’s request, the staff of the pre-trial detention center 2 stated that he allegedly was not in the institution.
«Most likely, Lev Skoryakin was pressured to state that he allegedly decided to return to Russia on his own and of his own free will: it was impossible to legally extradite him to the Russian Federation due to the refusal of the Kyrgyz Republic prosecutor’s office to extradite him and that he was an asylum seeker,» human rights activists explain.
Lev Skoryakin is recognized by Memorial as a political prisoner.
