The World Championship in Greco-Roman and Freestyle Wrestling among the hearing impaired and deaf will be held in Bishkek for the first time. Representative of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports told at a press conference.
According to her, the championship will be held from September 2 to September 12 in the Sports Palace named after Kojomkul. About 280-290 athletes from 16 countries are expected to participate in it.
The peculiarity of the championship is that tournaments will be held in three categories — among cadets, juniors and adults.
Opening ceremony will take place on September 2; competitions in freestyle wrestling will take place on September 3-6, tournaments in Greco-Roman wrestling will take place on September 8-11.
At least 15 athletes will represent Kyrgyzstan at the championship.
