Russia will build a research center for infectious diseases in Kyrgyzstan. The Deputy Minister of Health Bubuzhan Arykbaeva announced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on budget, economic and fiscal policy.
The deputies considered a draft agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Russian Federation on the construction and operation of a research center for infectious diseases in Kyrgyzstan.
Bubuzhan Arykbaeva noted that the facility would be built at the premises of the Republican Center for Quarantine and Especially Dangerous Infections. According to her, the specified institution began its work in 1937. Its building was built in 1964.
The deputy minister noted that the Russian side would transfer the constructed facility to the Kyrgyz side and train specialists.
Deputies noted that the agreement would only improve the state of the Republican Center and supported the project.
