The President of the Kyrgyz Republic received Beatrice Buffon, Executive Director of Electricite de France, a large state energy company of France.
The parties exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation, investment and implementation of joint projects in the field of energy and renewable energy sources.
Sadyr Japarov expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the firm for their interest and intentions for partnership in such an important direction for the republic as the development of green economy. «The issue of successful and sustainable development of the power industry is very relevant for the country. The Kyrgyz Republic is currently exploring all the possibilities of new production and highly appreciates the initiatives of the private sector to switch to green energy,» he said.
The head of state drew attention to the favorable investment climate created in Kyrgyzstan and noted the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to consider and study creation of additional conditions for attracting investors to the domestic energy industry.
According to him, the Kyrgyz Republic is ready for active cooperation with French investors.
Beatrice Buffon told about the activities of Electricite de France, which currently operates in the field of hydropower in 30 countries of the world. She expressed interest of the French company in investing in the hydropower sector of Kyrgyzstan, noting that the company intends to apply its experience and is ready to consider the possibility of co-investing in relevant projects.
