Activity of Hizb ut-Tahrir cell suppressed in Bishkek and Chui region

Activity of an active cell of the banned religious extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir was suppressed in Bishkek and Chui region. Press center of the State Committee for National Security reported.

«Seven members of the religious extremist organization were detained. Mobile phones and laptops, various literature and brochures containing religious information were confiscated in their places of residence,» the statement says.

The examination confirmed that the seized materials contained signs of a prohibited ideology. Moreover, some defendants in the criminal case fully admitted their guilt and repented of their involvement in the religious extremist organization. Materials regarding individual members of Hizb ut-Tahrir were sent to the court for consideration.
