More than 1,000 health care workers - carriers of hepatitis B in Kyrgyzstan

The incidence of hepatitis B and C among the population remains stable in the republic. The Ministry of Health Care reported.

According to it, viral hepatitis research is carried out every year among high-risk groups. In 2015, there have been examined 106, 883 people for hepatitis B and 101, 522 - for hepatitis C. There have been detected 4,148 and 3,142 carriers respectively.

 At least 1,078 of health workers- are carriers of hepatitis B and 778-carriers of hepatitis C.

The Health Care Ministry notes that the identification and registration of hospital-acquired infections has improved.  After the training of health workers, the identification of infections associated with medical procedures has improved that allows to timely carry out preventive measures.
