Kyrgyzstan to create single medicines and medical devices database

Kyrgyzstan will create single medicines and medical devices database. The Medicines Provision Department of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to it, there is a need in the health care system to combine the information about medicines, suppliers, patients, workers and organizations into a single system. We have approved the concept on creation of an electronic database of medicines and medical devices for 2016-2020. The advantage of an electronic database is the introduction of additional opportunities for regulation of the pharmaceutical market.

"The base will increase the efficiency of supply and allow monitoring the prices. It will be possible to track the movement of drugs by barcode from producer to consumer. Thanks to the database, purchases of health organizations will be transparent, the efficiency of supply will increase. Discarded drugs and gray import schemes will be withdrawn from turnover, as the database will include only certified medicines," the Health Care Ministry noted.
