Educational center for people with disabilities opened in Bishkek

Educational center for people with disabilities was opened in Bishkek. The Education and Science Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to the ministry, the center will help people with disabilities, using advanced technologies.

"In 2014, our initiative to establish a center was approved. There are two such centers in CIS, one is in Minsk and the second is in Bishkek. The problem is that the number of people with disabilities is increasing from year to year, there are about 200,000 disabled people in Kyrgyzstan. We will teach them how to use computers and other means of communication to get a higher education. Project cost is about $ 80-85,000. The International Telecommunication Union has allocated $ 55,000 for the special equipment and software, and the rest of the sum is allocated by our institute. We will provide assistance to everyone, but special attention will be paid to students," director of the Institute of Electronics and Communications at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov Baiysh Nurmatov told to 24.kg news agency.

Education Minister Elvira Sarieva noted that her ministry is working that education would be available to all without exception. This information and educational center will help people with disabilities to learn various professions.
