Bishkek Mayor\'s Office sums up 2016: nominal wages grew, cost of living decreased

The nominal average monthly salary in 2016 in Bishkek was 18,146 soms and in comparison with 2015 it increased by 8 percent, the first vice mayor of Bishkek Ernis Zarlykov said today at the board of the Mayor's Office.

According to him, the cost of living amounted to 4,819 soms, i.e. decreased by 2.7 percent compared to 2015.

"Local budget revenues amounted to 7.3 billion soms at the forecast of 8.3 billion. The forecast is 87 percent fulfilled, non-fulfillment - 1 billion. The expenditure part was performed in full, as required. All protected and mandatory payments have been closed," vice mayor said.

Ernis Zarlykov added that during the year, industrial output reached 32 billion soms. Ratio of the city within the scope of the republic - 16 percent.

The foreign trade turnover amounted to $3 billion and in comparison with 2015 decreased by $23 million.

Export index decreased by 7 percent, imports of goods increased by 1.7 percent.

Foreign direct investments totaled $314 million, which is 10 percent more than in 2015.
