Kanat Amankulov: Kyrgyz team came up 3 medals short because of referees at Olympic Games 2016

"Kyrgyz team came up 3 medals short because of the referees at the Olympic Games 2016, which ended in the city of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Director of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan Kanat Amankulov told 24.kg news agency.

According to him, it was planned that the team would perform a little different than happened in the end. But in general it performed much better than at the Games in 2012. "We counted on two or three medals and could actually win them. It is not a fault of the athletes. These all is because of bias, prejudice and arrogance of the referees. Not only Kyrgyz sportsmen have faced with it. We talked to other teams. There were some who were unhappy with the refereeing in wrestling, boxing and judo. Many in the Kyrgyz team have made their best. The wrestlers Ayaal Lazarev and especially Magomed Musayev have disappointed," Kanat Amankulov said.

He added that would give the official press conference having returned from Brazil. "Then, the State Agency will organize a board meeting to discuss the results of the team at the Olympics. We will say goodbye to some of the coaches. There will be a serious conversation with federations - some of them could work much better. We need to radically change the whole sports system in the country. My task is to make so that we will confidently go for medals," Kanat Amankulov said.
