Former head of Manas International Airport JSC- possible candidate for mayor of Bishkek

Ex-head of Manas International Airport JSC Albek Ibraimov is among the possible candidates for mayor of Bishkek. Own sources in Parliament informed 24.kg news agency.

According to them, among the potential candidates are deputy of SDPK faction Marat Amankulov (former speaker of Bishkek City Council - note of 24.kg news agency), head of Respublika- Ata Jurt parliamentary faction Omurbek Babanov and the acting mayor Aigul Ryskulova.

 Social Democratic Party faction leader in Bishkek City Council Lev Vasilyev told that the council does not discuss the candidates for mayor of the capital. "The mayor resigned, the Prime Minister signed statement, but the City Council did not receive any official note in this regard. Discussion of candidates will begin when elections are officially announced," he added.

 Lev Vasilyev noted that only the factions, majority coalition and the Prime Minister have the right to nominate candidates.

 Kubanychbek Kulmatov voluntarily left his post on February 9. Aigul Ryskulova was appointed acting mayor of Bishkek.
