Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan meet in Issyk-Kul

The Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan Almazbek Atambayev and Nursultan Nazarbayev are holding meeting in Issyk-Kul.

The head of the Kyrgyz Republic thanked the guest for his visit to the republic on the day of opening of the customs borders between the two countries. The meeting is held at Rukh Ordo national cultural center in Cholpon-Ata city before the teleconference with opening of borders at "Akzhol-avtodorozhny" checkpoint.

"It is a great pleasure to talk to you and listen to your advice, I am glad of the coming of the leader of one of the advanced countries in the world," the head of Kyrgyzstan states.

Just today the Prime Minister of the KR Temir Sariev and the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev are taking part in the opening of borders at "Akzhol-avtodorozhny" customs checkpoint.

Recall, the agreement on accession of Kyrgyzstan to the EEU was signed in December 2014 at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow. Today, the Kyrgyz Republic becomes a full member of the organization. The package of documents and a note of Kazakhstan were sent to the EEC. In connection with accession of the KR to the EEU customs control on the border with Kazakhstan is canceled.

The length of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border is 1,050 kilometers. Today is the last day of work of 7 customs posts: 6 motor and railway posts. For 7 months of 2015 more than 7 million people crossed these posts.
