Situation on Kyrgyz-Tajik border stabilizes

Situation on Kyrgyz-Tajik border near Kok-Tash village, Batken region, where incident between citizens of two countries has taken place, had stabilized. The State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to it, on January 22 at 5.50 p.m. about 30 Tajik citizens have come to the border and demanded to answer for their beaten up countryman in Kocho-Boyu area, near Kok-Tash village. As a result, the parties stoned each other. People have been injured, roofs of homes have been damaged.

The conflict ended at about 8.00 p.m.  The elders, representatives of local authorities and the Interior Ministry came to the scene. 

Border guards patrol the border in emergency mode. The situation is fully controlled. Explanatory work is being conducted among the population.
