Uzbekistan announces competition for monument to Islam Karimov

International competition has been announced to create a monument to the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. Kazinform reported.

As noted, the monument will be erected in the city of Tashkent. Under the contest conditions, all wishing to participate in it must post on a special website of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and the website of the organizing committee agreed documents and information materials.

Applications deadline - March 31, 2017.

Monument to Islam Karimov may also appear in Moscow - in the park near the consular department of Uzbekistan.

The first president of Uzbekistan died on September 2 at the age of 78 from a stroke. He was buried in his native Samarkand.
