In general, Emomali Rahmon, who is ruling in Tajikistan since 1992, has 9 children - seven daughters and two sons.

In December 2015, Tajikistan adopted the Law "On the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation," which gave Emomali Rahmon special status and privileges for life. The leader of the nation is guaranteed inviolability: it is forbidden to detain, arrest and search him. Property and belonging to the leader and his family real estate is also inviolable. Emomali Rahmon and all the members of his family will be under the protection of the state security organs for life.

In May 2016, Tajikistan held a referendum to amend the Constitution, which has secured Rahmon's ruling for life and provided the opportunity for his son to run for president in the next elections.
