Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reminds Turkey about its independence and asks to respect sovereignty

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reminds Turkey about its independence and asks to respect the sovereignty. In such a way it responded to the call of the Turkish Foreign Ministry to take action against supporters of Fethullah Gülen in the Kyrgyz Republic.

"We have carefully studied the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu with respect to the activities of some educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan. Republic of Turkey - is a fraternal country for Kyrgyzstan, our peoples have long-standing and close historically conditioned ties. We are sympathetic to the concerns of Turkish officials. At the same time, we would like to remind that Kyrgyzstan is primarily an independent, sovereign state, which is in a position to understand and decide what is good for it and what is bad. We consider it as at least incorrect when the Minister of Foreign Affairs of a country points another state to the need to take certain steps using the language of ultimatums and blackmail," statement said.

It is noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received an address of the Turkish side concerning the existing on the territory of Kyrgyzstan Turkish private educational institutions. "The Kyrgyz side is carefully studying it and will take appropriate and timely actions, if necessary. There are certain legal regulations, obligations of the parties, and other issues. But that's all, we emphasize, is exclusively an internal affair of our country," the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic stressed.
