Prime Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan discuss temporary ban on import of potatoes from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov today in the framework of the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Yerevan (Armenia). The press service of the Cabinet of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov invited Karim Masimov to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan in the framework of the meeting of CIS Heads of Government, which will take place on June 7 in Bishkek, and to hold a meeting of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh Intergovernmental Council.

 During the meeting, the heads of government discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation. In particular, the parties raised the issue of a temporary ban on the import of potatoes from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan. The Prime Ministers instructed the Ministries of Agriculture of the both countries to work out lifting of the ban till the joint session of the Intergovernmental Council in Bishkek.
