Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov attended the opening ceremony of the construction of a regional energy project CASA-1000, which took place today in Tursunzade city (Tajikistan), the department of information support of the Kyrgyz government reported.
According to it, the ceremony was also attended by the President of Tajikistan, the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Participants made the symbolic turning of the electricity pylon attachment bolts, pressed the start button.
As reported, CASA-1000 unites Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is aimed at the transmission of electricity through high-voltage power lines. Total project cost - $1 billion. Share of the KR - $233 million.
