Woman, who sold 3 her children, placed in detention center

A woman, 1982, who has sold three her children, was placed in a detention center for one month. The Main Department of Internal Affairs for Chui region informed 24.kg news agency.

Recall, in February a resident of Asyl-Bash village turned to the police with a statement that his wife in 2014 has sold two minor children (daughter and son) for 80,000 soms to strangers. Also, in January 2015, she, giving a birth to a daughter, sold her for 2,000 soms to obstetricians of Chui regional hospital. Later on, new birth certificates have been issued for these children.

According to police, the woman sold first two children to Talas region, and the third - to Isyk-Ata district. "Children are not withdrawn from the families in which they live. The couple divorced when the wife was pregnant with her third child. A criminal case under Article 124 (trafficking in persons) of the Criminal Code was initiated on the statement. The investigation is underway," the department officials told.
