Resident of Batken region detained for extremist materials storage

A resident of Batken region was detained for a month for storage of religious, extremist materials. Press service of regional court reported.

According to it, on February 2, law enforcement officials arrested resident of Kyzyl-Kiya Rasulov, born in 1990. He is married with two children. He is previously convicted and unemployed. The man stored materials of the banned terrorist organization Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan and Katibat al-Bukhari in his phone. Criminal case was initiated under Article 299 of the Criminal Code.

Batken district court chose for him a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest. However, the appeal court changed the measure of restraint and took him into custody.
