Trading volume on interbank market of Kyrgyzstan decreased by 80.9 percent 

In 2016, the volume of transactions on the interbank market of Kyrgyzstan decreased by 80.9 percent. This is stated in the monetary review of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.

It is noted that in the past year, the situation on the interbank credit market was characterized by a decrease in the volume of transactions and the weighted average interest rates. The total volume of transactions - 6.4 billion soms.

The weighted average interest rate decreased from 11.02 percent in January to 1.54 percent in December.

The National Bank attributed this to a high level of excess liquidity in the banking system during the year. 

In 2016, the total volume of repo transactions amounted to 4.5 billion soms, the volume of credits in national currency in the interbank market was formed in the amount of 1.9 billion soms.
