About 70 tons of quarantined products from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan detained in Novosibirsk

About 70 tons of quarantined products from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were detained in Novosibirsk, the press service of Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Department for Novosibirsk region reported.

It is noted that 24.8 tons of fruit and vegetables were brought from Kyrgyzstan, 28.8 tons from Kazakhstan and 20 tons - from Uzbekistan. During the check, it  was established that these products are of high phytosanitary risk. One was trying to deliver fresh cucumbers, carrots, apples, persimmons, pomegranates, pears, lemons, plums, pumpkin, hot peppers, nuts, and grains of wheat and dried licorice root without certificates.

In accordance with the requirements of international quarantine legislation, the import of products to Russia was banned and the goods were returned to senders in the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan.
